Hey, my name is Naomi Skeltis. I am from Michigan but currently I live in Matamoros, Mexico where I work as a missionary. I graduated from World Harvest Bible College in May 2005. In January 2006 I came to Mexico for the first time. I stayed until May and assumed when I left I would never go back. God had other plans and I came back in October 2006. I have been in Mexico on and off for two years now.
The organization I work with is called Adventures In Missions and I think full of adventures is what I would call my life. I work with what is called the First Year Missionary (FYM) program. We have students come between the ages of 18-24. They come here because they desire to know God more through serving others. The core of the program is discipleship and leadership training.
My part is all of this is as the family leader. We live together in community and my role is trying to make the community we create a safe place where God's love flows freely. This involves lots of prayer, patients, and laughter. As a group we are daily growing, being stretched, and challenged to go deeper with God. God is using me in ways I never imagined or dreamed.
